Vue On Halcyon – Yarra Valley Wedding
On Melbourne’s tentative last Saturday of winter, I woke up buzzing with an old familiar feeling…
After a natural seasonal hiatus from (almost) most things wedding, it was my first wedding shoot of the season! Anticipation swirled around me – spring has almost sprung, which means that WEDDING SEASON IS IN BLOOM!
So naturally I chucked on a black dress and made my way to The Yarra Valley where my couple of the day; Abbey and Dan, were to wed at the stunning country vibe location of Vue on Halcyon.
It’s not particularly a rough day at work when some of your props and settings for the day include; a bare vineyard of open hilly plains with distantly scattered dimmed trees, hay rolls sitting on top of rich green grass lit golden by the sunset, and a newlywed couple who love to laugh together accompanied by their joyous bridal party.
Abbey’s Maid of Honour mentioned in her speech that Abbey & Dan have been together for 11 years, and yet they are still experiencing the honeymoon period – this was very much evident throughout the day and was naturally depicted in their photos.
Dan’s Best-Man continued with the laughter in his speech by character assassinating the entire grooms-party, honourably leaving his best material to last for the groom himself.
Weddings bring people together to celebrate love, happiness, family and relationships, and that is exactly what the rest of the night was all about.
It went by in a fun flurry of drinking, dancing, and plenty of opportunities for me to photograph the couple surrounded by family and friends in their first hours as newlyweds.
Congratulations again you guys, and thanks for letting me be a part of your continuing love story. xX
